Distant Interview – How to Maximize Your Success Rates

distant interview

Distant interviews are now something daily for both many companies and many candidates.

For this reason, below I will share with you tips to be prepared and maximize your success rates.

1. Professional Interview Area
Create a professional interview area! Your area should look clean and tidy!

2. Connection – Not with smartphone
Use a computer or at least tablet where you can set it up straight and also make sure your connection is stable.

3. Use a high-definition camera
Most computer cameras are not high definition, so buying a camera will make a huge difference to the quality of the image.

4. Look straight into the Camera
Don’t get carried away by the picture by looking at the windows of the people interviewing you. Look straight into the camera – this way you’ll have excellent eye contact.

5. Be ready 10 minutes before the start
It does not matter if it’s distant! It is necessary for you to be ready 10 minutes prior and have checked your connection, microphones, cameras, etc.

6. Professional
Professionalism is A to Z!
That’s why you need to dress up and take care of yourself as you would if it was a face-to-face interview. Note that you may need to move from your position during the interview

7. Communicate Effectively
Your communication is necessary to be targeted, without exaggeration and chatter. And at the same time, listen without interrupting (the most important communication skill).
It will also give you a great advantage if you ask specific questions about the topics you are discussing about.

8. Confidence
Self-confidence is the first thing they’ll evaluate in you. Believe that you can do it and give it to them – that you really are the perfect person for them.

I’m sure if you apply the above you will increase your success rates.
