Are you a Resource or a Capital? I am Yiannakis!

Difference between Human capital and human developement

Would you like to be called a Resource (Human) or by your name?

Actions and behaviors are the results of thoughts which in turn they evolve from perceptions. How can you interpret me as a resource(human) or (human) Capital and lead me as Yiannakis? Awkward isn’t it?

People in the last decade have changed more than they had changed in the past century.

One of the main changes has to do with the decision-making process of people. People(consumers, employees , family members) trigger their decisions based on emotions and imagination( right part of brain) and eventually take them based on logic ( left part of the brain ). Therefore, the triggering point of any decision is the emotional and creative part of a person’s brain. In plain language, that says that if you want anyone to decide on your favor you stand better changes if you trigger that person’s emotional (right) part of the brain.

This change has affected drastically product design, marketing, sales, management, leadership and any activity through which people interact. Inevitably, it has affected enormously the processes related to managing people. Human Resource or Human Capital terms are left brain nomenclature. Therefore, this terminology is far from triggering people’s decisions. They need to be changed right away. Similarly, and all people related practices.

But then on the other hand it is not easy, and it is very expensive to change the curricula of universities, the titles and business cards. After all an HR Manager is very authoritative title and sounds…. I don’t know. How does it sound? Logical and bold but never emotional or even slightly creative.
